Quebec Immigration - Language Proficiency


The language knowledge is one of 10 factors for which points are granted by the immigration selection system Quebec.

The Language test results must be submitted with applications for immigration in order to get the points on language skills:


A maximum of 22 points can be accumulated for language skills. The points should be allocated as follows, according to the indicated level of knowledge:

Fluency in French:

BEGINNER LEVELS:


LOW Beginner
  •  Listening: ability to understand short sentences (sentences commonly used);
  •   Speaking: ability to express basic needs.


HIGH Beginner
  •     Listening: ability to understand practical information in daily life;
  •   Speaking ability to make himself understood in familiar and predictable situations.

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL:


LOW Intermediate

  •    Listening: ability to understand the considerable information in familiar and predictable situations;
  •   Speaking: ability to speak in an understandable manner on various topics of everyday life.

HIGH Intermediate

  •              Listening: Ability to include detailed information on topics that are familiar or concrete and abstract topics;
  •              Speaking: ability to speak in a clear way on subjects related to their interests.

ADVANCED LEVEL:


Advanced

  •  Listening: ability to include detailed information on topics related to social and professional life;
  •  Speaking: ability to speak in a confident and accurate on various topics.
